Scientific rationalism, reason vs. Religious Faith

These are two different fields of knowledge and inquiry. It would be naïve to compare them on any logical basis, for they are not compatible and human logic and reasons, including scientific knowledge; restricted to tangibility, empiricism, and repeatability, cannot transcend into the realm of spirituality.

Such questions are generally raised by those who are staunch believers in material/tangible world only. They fail to even imagine or entertain the idea that; there could exist another realm beyond their area of comprehension; despite the fact that they invariably acknowledge the limitation and fallibility of human knowledge, reason, and logic, including taken for guaranteed scientific knowledge. They also talk about many dimensions of the Universe but exclude the spiritual one due to ingrained anti-faith arrogance and rigidity.

Most often a misunderstanding of the earlier religious figures or even nonreligious figures; who laid some kind of claims in the name of religion; which turned out to be false are being exploited to justify the incorrigibility of reason, logic and scientific knowledge, which in itself is deceit and treachery. There are, on the other hand, numerous claims made by scientist community; being transient and tentative — as per the Pierce Doctrine of “Fallibilism”–turned out to be false, should they not then be used similarly to validate the religion/faith?

The good news, however, is that there is a growing breed of people; who have the capacity and will to traverse both the realms with equal ease and certainty. This approach is the only approach which will augment and extend, the understanding and the ensuing benefits of both the realms, to the human race.

Needless to stress the reality, that the Creator of the science is also the Creator of all the universe (s) dimensions including spiritual one. We cannot go too far by just acknowledging and depending only on one of the dimensions of—materiality, tangibility, empiricism and repeatability. We ought to learn to transcend and traverse both (and all) the realms to better understand and benefit fully.

Theological Epistemology

December 17, 2017

Is there such a thing as historical-epistemological theology? It investigates the theory of theological knowledge, belief as it matures and evolves throughout the ages?

Epistemology came into use in the second half of the 18 century whereas the Divine religions go back to the beginning of the Creation and Islam goes back to 6th Century. Therefore Divine religions predate the latent philosophical concepts and terminology. On the other hand, however, there is sure a mode of progression in the monotheism—-Sabianism, Judaism, Christianity and finally Islam. (The theme of monotheism remained focal and constant)

Its critical analysis, however, was not left to the human contemplation or logical reasoning alone but was answered, affirmed through the scriptures and the Prophetical delineations.

Repeated interpolation of the previous scriptures is a vivid example of the defective, maneuvered and contrived application of human reasoning and logic.

It, for the most part, therefore was put to an end by the Divine Himself by declaring in Holy Qura’an that your religion “Islam” has been perfected.

Contemplation, on ancillary matters, however, would continue until the end of the time; through Ijtihad; by the competent scholars and consensus thereupon, being essentials for the correct conclusions/solutions.

This process, nevertheless, is above and beyond the scope of mundane philosophical constructs and terminologies.

Declare–Rakhine–an Independent Rohingya Muslims State.

September 11, 2017

Rohingyas are living in Myanmar since 8th Century. A most persecuted Muslim minority since 2013 UN.The Rohingya faced Military crackdown in 1978,1991,1992, 2012, 2015 and NOW in 2016–2017. UN officials and HRW have described Myanmar’s persecution of the Rohingya as ethnic cleansing, while there have been warnings of an unfolding genocide.

Accession into Pakistan.

During the Pakistan Movement in the 1940s, Rohingya Muslims in western Burma organized a separatist movement to merge the region into East Pakistan. Before the Independence of Burma in January 1948, Muslim leaders from Arakan addressed themselves to Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, and asked his assistance in incorporating the Mayu region to Pakistan considering their religious affinity and geographical proximity with East Pakistan. The North Arakan Muslim League was founded in Akyab (modern Sittwe) two months later. The proposal never materialized since it was reportedly turned down by Jinnah, saying that he was not in a position to interfere into Burmese matters. After Jinnah’s refusal to accept northern Arakan into the Dominion of Pakistan, some Rohingya elders who supported a Jihad movement founded the Mujahid party in northern Arakan in 1947. The aim of the Mujahid party was to create an autonomous Muslim state in Arakan.

There are 1.3 million in and around Myanmar and about 1.5 million spread in other countries.

Yanghee Lee, the UN special investigator on Myanmar, believes the country wants to expel its entire Rohingya population.

If UN can declare—East Taimour—& —South Sudan— for Christians, why not –Rakhine— for Rohingya Muslims?

JUDAISM CHRISTIANITY & ISLAM

August 11, 2015

3 in one

Berlin thinks it is making religious history as Muslims, Jews and Christians join hands to build a place where they can all worship. The House of One, as it is being called, will be a synagogue, a church and a mosque under one roof.

Why Muslim believe in all three religions, Prophets and Books?

“We ordained for you that religion which, We commanded unto Noah, and that which We inspired in you (O Mohammad), and that which, We commanded unto Abraham and Moses and Jesus saying establish the religion, and be not divided therein”. (Surah Counsel 42, V-13)

“Unto this (very religion), then, summon (O Mohammad) and be upright as you are commanded, and follow not their lusts, by saying: I believe in whatever Scripture God has sent down. And I am commanded to be just among you. God is our Lord and your Lordunto us our work and unto you your work. No argument between us and you. God will bring us together and Unto Him is the journeying” (Surah Counsel 42, V-15)

All three Divine religions were sent down by the very same God and there is intrinsically and thematically (monotheism) no difference in them except, in ancillary practices (Sharia’ahs) of the Prophets. “For each (of you) We have appointed a Divine Law and a traced out way” (Surah Ma’aeda 5, V-48)

It names Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Mohammad, which means that His message since Adam till now is the same and has not changed with any of the Prophets. There however had been a difference in the practices of the prophets—called Sharia’ahs. There is consensus of religious scholars that no deviation occurred from the time of Prophet Adam till Noah.

Explanations

  • Be not divided thereinmeans do not discriminate between the religions since all are divine in their origin and their adherents were truly obedient to GodDeviation and dissensionstarted from the time of Prophet Noah onward.
  • 2) Lust here is in the sense of deviation or dissention, desires or whims.
  • 3) Unto us our work and unto you your work—means you are responsible for your deeds and we are responsible for ours. We all shall gather unto God andHe is the final arbiter.
  • I am commanded to be just among you—one of the meanings of this sentence interpreted by exegetes is that—-The Prophet Mohammad has to obey all the Divine Laws, treat all the commands of religions equally by believing in all the Prophets and in their Books without any exceptions.

That is why it is incumbent upon and compulsory for Muslims to believe in all three religions as Divine, All Prophets and their Books. It also dispels the misunderstanding, as to why there are similarities in Torah, Bible and Qura’an. Some ignorant even go to the extreme, accusing that Qura’an is a copy of some earlier scriptures or Books.

There arises an obvious question, then why all these books are needed? The answer is that earlier books had been grossly interpolated (altered) making the original text extinct. According to Christian Historical perspectives, Bible was compiled anew, through memory bank of Christian priests/monks, 200 years after the ascension (Crucifixion in Christian terms) of Jesus Christ. That is how Christianity ended up having four or more versions of Bible. All 4 prominent disciples of Jesus Christ compiled their own version of Bible through their own sources. Technically it can’t even be called “BIBLE” Qura’an in any form other than the Arabic text does not technically meet the threshold of being called Qura’an. Qura’an with Arabic text, on the other hand, is the divinely preserved final Book of revelations. There has not been any change in its original text since the time of it descended.

There was a gap of about 500 years between Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammad. Original Bible and Torah had already gone extinct even before Prophet Mohammad’s period. Fewer true Jews and Christians were left. Prophet Mohammad, as ordered, invited them to embrace Islam as the true and final religion. Some did, but others did not—as religion has always been a very sensitive matter—- hence we have an ongoing clash of egos on our hands till the end of the time. God guide us all and forgive us too. (Peace Be Upon all Prophets).

Note:-No criticism or disrespect is intended through this essay in any way or sense. Its purpose rather is to educate and inform people across the board.

Save the generations from becoming disillusioned.

May 3, 2015

It is alarming that schools, colleges, and universities in the West generally and in the United States specifically are working on a deliberate plan to churn out younger generation Anti-Religion, Anti-Nation. BBC recently aired a program where it was narrated that Christians are afraid of publically declaring themselves as Christians. The reason is that Atheists attack theist with such ferocity that most theists, because of lack of knowledge or religious befuddlement, take refuge in hiding their theistic beliefs. Surprisingly it is not the case with Christians only. Muslims are facing that dilemma twice—an attack from atheists—- and —another from Islamophobes. The result is that Muslims with little or no knowledge are also compelled to accept unsavory labels of “Secular-Muslims” or “liberal-Muslims” Some, to avoid these slanderous terms use a bit more acceptable term of “Contemporary-Muslims”–In an attempt to distinguish themselves as enlightened, modern Muslims. All of these classifications are untenable from an Islamic perspective. The point to ponder is why is it happening on such a massive scale and what forces are working behind it. Church, no doubt, has miserably failed to keep the Church goers and attract the new adherents. There could be several reasons for it, but few obvious ones are, commoditization of religion, commercialization of church activities, Misappropriation or nonreligious use of contributions. Mosques, on the other hand, are generally manned by illiterate, with little or no religious knowledge imams, who in many cases can’t even read or speak English. Their main role, therefore, is limited to leading the prayers. Main reason for poor quality Imams is financial constraints. A very famous mega Church leader in GA is planning to gather 15 million $ for buying an airplane for his personal use. Several  church-related figures have already been trashed in the media on similar accounts.

Why younger generation, is thronging to Atheism?

Another reason is the parent (s) casual and expedient lifestyle where religiosity takes a back seat. There is no concerted effort to instill the religious values in the mind and behavior of a kid. Freedom of religion and freedom of choice is overemphasized which culminates in an individualistic mindset– without any pre-set boundaries. Expedient morality bits starts from anywhere and to whatever one deems fit. Everyone establishes its own set of self-satisfying rules—which are bound to result in conflict at the wider stage of the world. When such minds, due to natural propensity or worldly compulsion, think to fall in conformity with the universally accepted values of morality and conduct, an insurmountable challenge is faced. They have to unlearn what they have been living by first, since childhood, and then learn the religious, new values, fresh. In the face of this arduous undertaking easiest and readily available course, therefore, is to resign to already pulling liberal/atheistic forces. Hence another fine mind is lost to the abyss of ATHEISM forever.

Our ambivalent or explicit approval of activities condemned in scriptures is another reason for this pandemic. Today any important personality has to think 100 times, before resorting to God in Public discourse, whereas coming out of the closet waving a flag of modern liberalism has become a matter of pride. The result is that most media outlets would flatly refuse to carry any opinion against gays and lesbians. Religions or religious figures, however, could be ridiculed and desecrated with perfect impunity in the name of freedom of expression. (Absolutely inapplicable to any opinion against gays and lesbians)  On several TV Channels, it is a fait accompli to replace the word God with extra-terrestrials or some other synonym. On History Channel on May 1st, 2015 2, PM show it was said that Moses went to the mountains not to meet God but extraterrestrials. We, therefore, have to reverse this situation with serious, all out efforts if we have to save this nation and country from disillusionment and ideological demise.

Why Christianity does not acknowledge Prophet Lot. (lut)

April 8, 2015

If you speak to a Christian and talk about Prophet Lot the answer would be bewilderment.

This has been quite surprising to me but now, I think, I have figured out the reason. Let me share it with those who might find it astonishing, different, or simply an Islamic P.O.V.

Answer lies in a series of assertions.

1) Why Virgin Mary (Maryam) is depicted as, God forbid, an infidel……. to justify the rampant and pervasive infidelity; which is committed with impunity. (Married/Infidel Can not be Virgin).

2) Why Jesus does not speak in childhood, in Christianity……..because he testified of his   Prophecy and against any infidelity committed thereby absolving Mary. This very fact shakes the very foundation of Christianity and invalidates the impunity granted to by design infidelity.

3) Why Jesus is Son of God and not a Prophet…..because, in addition to above, there would be no difference between Christianity and Judaism (and Islam as well) despite an accepted fact that Jesus Christ was a Jew. Surprisingly he gave a religion (Christianity) which he never brought or practiced.

Similarly acknowledging Prophet Lut would mean trashing out the created edifice of GBTL.

What struck me however is vehement defense of GBTL but much severer contempt of those not approving. This vehemence is anecdotal and was meted out even at the time of Prophet Lut. Prophet Lut was threatened to be an outcast if he did not stop the opposition to Sodomy. He nevertheless, replied “I am hateful to your act” He didn’t say though that “I hate you” (Sodomist). (It is suggestive of an appropriate behavior for people)

Divine punishment meted out was that the Town was lifted up and thrown back on the ground.

The punishment deduced therefore is that a sodomist should be crushed to death by throwing a Wall on him or he be thrown from height. (Hanafi School of thought exclusively).
